I went for an ultrasound here a few years ago, I had a very bad experience and decided to write it off as maybe the technician was having a bad day. She was incredibly rude to me - I was actually taken aback by her behaviour, couldn't believe what was happening. Over the years I've thought about returning to complain about my experience....but venting here will have to suffice. From the time the technician got me from the waiting room until I left the ultrasound room, she seemed angry, combative and rude. Never have I had such an unprofessional experience! Won't return under any circumstances!

The tech informed us on the way into the room that only the person being scanned would be allowed in the room. Patients undergoing medically necessary tests in this facility may arrive feeling scared and having their support person denied entry to their testing lacks sensitivity to the patient's experience. This kind of a policy creates a power gradient which renders impotent the patient's power over their own healthcare. If you feel strongly about having your support person or family member present during your exam, this is NOT the place to have your tests completed.

Mad Dad to be!
We should have learned from how bad the first one was and went to Vernon for our 2nd one but we thought we must have just got a bad technician and would try it once more. Bad idea! Seems all their employees must hate working there because they are not at all accomodating or friendly! Judging by the pictures we recieved of our first borns to be (twins), I'm not so sure they are even qualified to run the equipment. The first ultrasound images that we had elsewhere at week 12 looked more like a baby then the ones we just had on week 26, we are just praying that they actually know what they are looking at and got the correct measurments that the doctors need. My wife also said that both Techs didn't even talk to her or reasure her that the babies were even alive! This being our first children, we are quite excited to see the developmental changes in each ultrasound. NOTE: At KMI they do not allow the father of the babies to be present in the room during the appointment until it is over, then they come get the father, spent 20 seconds with both parents showing them crappy images before they print them off and kick you out. I was told when I complained that it is too much pressure on the Techs when someone extra is sitting in the corner watching. Are you kidding me! They have a wand and a belly with jelly! If they are that incompetent to do their job with someone looking on, then how did they do their practical training?? Or did they?? I work on High Voltage Powerlines if you want a job with high pressure! The tech never said one word to either of us and we had to rip the pictures off the machine ourselfs to take them with. It has really put a bad taste in our mouths about something that should be such an awesome experience! I have heard bad comments from many people since our visits. The receptionist at the front desk told us to spend the $50 and go to sneek-a-peek ultrasound if we wanted good pictures....We don't need good pictures but something that resembles a baby would be nice!

disenchanted
I can't get over how negative of an experience a simple ultrasound could be. The requisition states several times to arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment. I arrived at 7:40 a.m. and stood outside the door until 8, at which point the receptionist walked over, unlocked the door and walked away. When she finally addressed me (rudely), I noticed crumbs stuck in her lip gloss. I then realized that her danish or whatever was just *far* more important than the punctuality of my appointment (after I had been fasting). I then proceeded to wait for an additional 20 minutes in the waiting room, while additional patients piled in. I was the first one helped at around 8:20. The ultrasound technician was very rude. She wouldn't acknowledge me, or humour me by being friendly. The most she said to me was "here's a towel to wipe the goop off of yourself." Also worth noting that with a waiting room of 8 or so people, I couldn't help but noticed a large group of staff gathered in the back, chatting and laughing. Good thing I took time off of work to drive from Lake Country into the Mission at 7 am to be on time...

this is the worst place in my life that i visited. i was 10 minutes late as i didn't understand their instruction. for this reason all of them were so rude to me. i am 27 wks pregnant. i said my husband will go inside to see the baby. they said, sorry u are late. for the whole process i was requesting several times that technician lady was rudely saying, no, u are late. then i asked, are u gonna show me my baby? she said no, u are late. even in the whole process she didn't spend a single word to reassure me that, ur baby is ok, don't worry. i was so pissed that i didn't bring the photo. me and my husband went to the othority to complain. that guy was worse than the lady. i believe, it is against medical ethics. as i am a doctor at my home country and preparing for licensing exam here i know how medical ethics said to treat with patient. i will never suggest anybody to go there
