I met Dr. Lingertat at PRHC in emerg. He prescribed an antibiotic for the colored phlegm I was experiencing. I was in emerg. for chest pains (I have a history of heart problems). He had blood tests done in the morning and later that evening. No damage to the heart. Earlier that week, my family DR. said my cold symptoms were not bad enough for a prescription even though I am taking immune system suppressing drugs for MPA. My cold symptoms cleared up in about 5 days. I would rate his treatment as "spot on". He was not big on small talk but was very straight forward and professional in dealind with me. I believe he is a very competent Doctor.

we had the pleasure of meeting this doc at the PRHC emergency dept last night. My BF(Mark) has suffered with severe accute lumbar pain radiating down his legs. He had been to the day clinic 2 days prior and we were waitng for a CT scan ordered by them. However his pain became debilitating and unbearable to him, which led to our visit to the emergency room. Dr .Lingertat was short and not at all sensitive to the pain he was experiencing He refused to order any sort of scan, simply stating that no surgeon will operate on him. We pleaded with him to order a scan to find out what was causing this, but he said best he was willing to offer was pain meds. When Mark stated that is not what he was there for , the doctor then said nothing he can do for us. i have been working in the medical field for more than 20 years, and this experience left me shocked and disgusted with the level of care that this doctor believed to be acceptable. Surely the 3 years of University that this man has must have taught him more compassion than what he displayed last night, to someone whom was a desparate for help as Mark was. It is a shame to our city to know that if in need of good medical attention , than we will have to travel to a hospital in a larger city, such as Toronto where the doctors care enough to listen to their patient pain. Will never recommend any one to our PRHC emergency team.

I Took my 15 month old to prhc's emergency department after 4 weeks of increasingly more and more symptoms & 3 doctor visits and having been directed to do so by our family doctor. He asked questions but would cut myself and my husband off by repeating one word of what we'd said and adding "ok fine" to it and not allowing us to finish. When we said that we suspected Kawasaki's disease based on what our doctor said he brushed it off and said "no, it hasn't been long enough to think it's anything but viral". My husband mentioned that we had looked the disease up online to see if it seemed to fit her symptoms & to us it did very much so. He immediately said "you people should stop using google to diagnose". We didn't use google to diagnose, we merely looked up what had been suspected. My husband said we weren't comfortable going home without testing to rule things out at the very least. He said " it doesn't matter what tests are run, it won't change the diagnosis or outcome". We asked if we could let her eat or follow through with clear liquids only as our family doc previously directed. His reply "I don't care, what does it matter to me?. If your kid wants to eat, feed it". He finally agreed to refer us to the paediatric outpatient program in the morning. That morning was, today! Guess where my baby is? Laying in a hospital bed hooked up to IV receiving meds for Kawasaki's disease & us hoping the Eco doesn't show any permanent heart damage. I'm absolutely disgusted with this Dr Lingertat. No bedside manner at all. My baby could have serious problems now all because he refused to do his job and was more worried about showing us that he was the one with the medical degree and we are just stupid uneducated people. I will NEVER forget this. He should be fired!

Dr. Lingertat is quick to dismiss you and refuses to do a thorough exam when symptoms are evident. He is rude and acts very entitled to his minimal knowledge.
