I thought I was having a stroke and it turned out to be vertigo. Dr. Lingertat was excellent in his approach with me and his communications skill and demeanour were very good. He was able to put me at ease and treated me in a respectful and kind way which I didn't feel was the case with some other staff (but certainly not all) while I was sitting waiting for over 7 hours for care.

I saw Dr Lingertat at Ptbo ER this past Monday afternoon. A lingering respiratory condition initially prompted my visit & I also planned to ask for quick check of a preexisting head injury since I was there. Dr Lingertat literally seemed to not be remotely interested in learning just how I felt; he asked questions, but cut off my responses. Rolled his eyes when I said I hadn't had a flu shot or a covid booster (I told him I'm not antivax, just work 7 days a week & haven't made it a priority). He listened to my lungs & asked me to blow out a strong breath as if i was blowing out a candle. I asked about my chest xray & he seemed annoyed. Very condescendingly informed me there was no pneumonia on my lungs. I then asked if I could have him look quickly at my head, the bump over my brow (a metal bar fell from a shelf & struck me in the temple 2 weeks prior). His actual response when I began to explain that a couple of weeks ago I was struck on the head was "that falls under the category of Who Cares." I was so stunned I didn't think I heard him correctly & asked him to repeat himself, which he did. He's like it's fine, your body will reabsorb it. He didn't even ask me what happened! He wrote me a prescription for the respiratory condition. All in all I got the help I needed, however he's a dismissive gearbox of a Dr and I was so not impressed.
