I broke my arm and had to go to the ER. I found Dr. Spelliscy to be friendly, answer my questions and I didn't feel rushed. He took the time to show me my xray, prescribe painkillers and provide recommendations for best sleeping positions for the night. I was actually quite surprised by how pleasant my er visit was. I'm not sure where these negative reviews are coming from, as I wouldn't have a problem or have any doubts seeing Dr. Spelliscy if I ever have another emergency.

Dr. Spelliscy does not have empathy for his patients. I went into the Er with extreme pain in my low back, shortness of breath and was completely immobile, my boyfriend even wheeled me in on a wheel chair. When Dr spelliscy came to talk to me the first thing he said was "have you tried to lose weight? Because that's your problem you know" he didn't do any examination what so ever and told me he could give me some pain killers and there was nothing else that he would do. I have never in my life felt so discrimated. He didn't think to consider that a fit person became overweight due to this exact injury because they could not exercise. Anyways, I agree with the previous post if you see this doc at KGH go get a second opinion. He is judgemental, and needs to learn some soft skills.

Due to Dr. Spelliscy horrible ethics I now have PTSD. I went to emergency 13 weeks pregnant with adnominal pain. The ultra sound he requested did not request to see the baby at all, I had to ask the tech to show me the baby. When we received tragic results he couldn't be bothered to do it in private. He told my boyfriend and I infront of at least 10 people and refused to answer any questions.

I question this man dedication to emergency medicine, the oath he must have taken when he became an MD - DO NO HARM,or he just became complacent and needs to retire. Do to his lack of due care and professional responsibility; I ended up having a heart attack, had eight transfusions and spent eleven days in the hospital. My advice if treated by this Doctor get a second opinion, the medical students ARE GREAT AT KGH

Dr. Spelliscy was wonderfully kind and patient. He went above and beyond to help me and contacted my specialist, Dr. Benoit who generously came to emergency to see me. Dr. Spelliscy did not rush and listened cardfully as I described my symptoms. Very friendly and professional. Thank you!
