Went to see this doctor because many friends and family were concerned about me and my mental health. Was previously diagnosed with anxiety and wanted to get some insight on what else I may or may not have. The doctor was inconsiderate, did not listen to me, and interrupted me when I was trying to explain how I felt. I mentioned how I have a bad relationship with my father which contributes to my anxiety and he basically implied that my terrible relationship with my dad was "my fault" because I wasn't listening to my parents. I said a few things that should have been considered a red flag and he completely ignored me. I mentioned that I smoked weed a few times when I was in high school and continue to do so once every 3 months or so. Sent me home with an addictions pamphlet. The whole appointment was a joke. My anxiety has been through the roof since the appointment and I feel worse than before. I've had a rough couple of months and the last thing I needed to hear was criticism and accusations from someone who barely knew me and did not take the time to listen. I question this doctor's integrity and whether or not he should be talking to patients who are clearly in need of help and guidance.

I’ve been on a waiting list for about 4-5 months now... I finally get a call from him just for him to tell me there’s nothing wrong with me...? Also, laughing on the phone while I’m explaining things to him & how I feel. & just for him to tell me there’s absolutely nothing wrong with me... The way he speaks to me is aggressive almost like I’m annoying him with what I’m saying... There are people out here that need help & people out here that don’t want to be apart of this world anymore... Then you get dicks like him who are “certified” counsellors to tell you “you’re fine, I can’t help you” while laughing at you...? People like him are dangerous. Get him out of here now.

The best words to describe Dr Johnson are: unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. He asked me how i felt and continued interrupting me and invalidating me saying i was using words that were "too technical." To the extent that anything other than "I feel sad" was shot down midsentence. He also accused me of reading a list of symptoms off the internet and had no interest in the context of my diagnoses. As all my diagnoses have come from discussions with qualified psychiatrists and doctors, this is an outrageous thing to say. He even went so far as to state that I was prescribed medication due to the occasional drink (I was straight edge until about 4 years after being prescribed these meds). He continued insisting that I had to have a specific reason for being sad, so I eventually caved and gave a recent example of my dad dying. This was clearly a mistake, as he seemed to believe that my father's passing 3 years ago is to blame for decades of insomnia, depression, and ADHD... Apparently grief can travel backwards through time? My doctor referred me to make sure I was on the right meds, which I've been on for about 7 years following treatment from qualified physicians and psychiatrists. There is no reason for this to have been such a terrible, invalidating experience. 4-5 months waitlist for an assessment that (at best) will negate 4-5 years of treatment is frankly outrageous. Just to be told I "don't sound depressed" (I guess cause my meds work I'm not sick?) Dr Johnson has no business providing Healthcare while blatantly refusing to listen.

I wish I read these reviews before I went to see him. Right off the bat he asked me what was wrong. I spoke for only 10min and then he said i'm fine i just need regular therapy. I told him I have been in therapy for 7 years. That did now change his mind. I told him I have been drug free for three years. He says I have an addiction problem. Every word I was saying he took as me being angry. I told him I have been working my job for 14 years. Then he said since you're working you don't have any of the diagnosis's i told him I had. He's not just a bad psychiatrist, he's actually harmful to the mental health community. It's so sad that someone who sees people at their worst gets paid really good money and just makes them feel even worse when they leave. I sent a complaint to the hospital and he sent the police to my job to take me to the hospital. This man should not be working with mental health patients.

I went in to follow up on my therapist diagnosing me with ADHD. After half an hour with this doctor, I was told I do not have ADHD as I am too successful in my career. I was also told that ADHD does not exist, and was invented by amphetamine producers to sell more amphetamines. He then proceeded to quote Rudyard Kipling at me, and told me that he once cured a woman by telling her "you are ok" and she was miraculously cured. I'd say he's incompetent, but I truly think he's delusional. He is not helpful, or informed, and I can see him being a dangerous influence on patients. And now I'm stuck on the waiting list again until I can find another psychiatrist. Do not recommend this person to patients any more.
