Angry patients
Dr Lobay was incredibly arrogant. My wife arrived at the emergency ward of the U of A hospital with severe abdominal pain and what we had suspected was a severe case of food poisoning. When he did finally arrive, his demeanor indicated he was not at all interested in providing quality care in any form. My wife was examined and given a blood test and prescribed anti-cramping medicine. This was not the end of our ordeal however.... The next day the pain returned to the tenth degree and she could no longer move and an ambulance was called. The EMTs examined her and inquired about Dr lobay's diagnosis and shared concerned puzzlement about why no other tests were done. We were transported to the Misacordia hospital where the nurses ran blood tests and gave her a CT scan. It was dicovered almost too late that my lovely wife had a appendicitis, and literally moments away from becoming septic and deadly!!! She was rushed into pre-op immediately and it was discovered that her appendix had already Burst!!! The first thought that hit me was the POTENTIALLY FATAL misdiagnosis given by one Dr Kevin Lobay. Do not take this doctor as a GP!!! He has absolutely no bedside manor whatsoever! If you find yourself in the emergency ward at the U of A hospital, AVOID THIS DOCTOR!!!

I’m sorry to say a family member of mine was unfortunately seen by him in the ER. We asked a simple question if the “patient” came in after being unconscious was he allowed to eat, since he’s diabetic. His response was stern and said “is he here to eat?”I understand working in the ER can be stressful but bedside manners and compassion go a long way. He’s a doctor who took an oath and to treat elders like that is repulsing!!!!

I went in with vomiting and pain. received 2 doses of morphine. He took blood and sent me for a ct scan. he saw i did not have an empty colon. who has an empty colon. he told me nothing was wrong with me and to go home. i vomited for 9 more days and went to another hospital Finally my doctor was back to work and when she saw my blood work her response was" he never checked." i was off work 5 weeks and this is 7 weeks and i am still very ill at times. this doctor was only interested in turning out the patients. all about kpi's. when i begged him not to send me home he told me "there is nothing wrong with you go home and go to the bathroom". he went to school but not only did he spend the money to have lab work done he never checked it. i am still recovering.

Dr. Lobay is a skilled doctor, caring and compassionate. While treating me for suspected appendicitis he examined me carefully, ordered the appropriate tests, and carefully explained the test results to me. Dr. Lobay made sure I understood the diagnosis and what treatment he was proposing. He followed up with me the next day to ensure all was going well. I highly recommend Dr. Lobay as a skilled emergency physician.
