You're a doctor? Really?

This "doctor" needs to go back to school to learn the difference between a bacterial infection and a viral infection. I go to the walk-in clinic at 15 Westney in Ajax with an infection in my eye and sore throat with a productive cough. He gives me an antibiotic drop for the eye and ignores the rest of the symptoms. He tells me it is "not strep throat". Well duh, it could be a different bacteria as there are millions of them! Two days later both my ears are full of fluid and infected, I have fluid in one lung and I still have a sore throat with a productive cough, but my eye is a little better. So, I am going to another doctor to get a prescription. What really annoys me is now the Ontario tax payer must foot the bill for one misdiagnosis and a second opinion for the right diagnosis. Tell me why we should listen to the Ontario Medical Association's lobby for more money for doctors??? You want more money, really??? You're a doctor, really???

I was very shocked and appalled by Dr. Lum’s service. He needs training in providing patient-centred care & culturally responsive strategies to better serve the diverse needs of the service users. He came across very dismissive, very partriarchal in his tone & approach. He seemed very much in a rush to see the next client. I’ve gone to Westney heights for the past 8years & none of the Drs have belittled me the way Dr. Lum did. People go to walk-in clinics for different reasons not limited to the convenience it offers. Please be human enough to empathise and provide advise in a non-aggressive manner even when you are more qualified.
