He's the best! He performed my second prostate biopsy and it was like night and day. The first was done at Brampton Civic Hospital. I didn't have any complaints about the staff or service but the probe was the most uncomfortable thing ever. There was blood in my urine, stool, etc. for two weeks. I swore I'd never do it again unless I was under a general. Dr. McLean assured me that his procedure would be painless, the probe smaller, and that he would perform it himself. I had the procedure done at St. Joseph's Health Centre by him and his team Nov. 02, 2011 and I couldn't believe how well it went! His approach to collecting core samples is systematic, unlike the random samples at the other hospital. They inserted a catheter, then Dr. McLean inserted a scope to inspect my bladder for any bacteria that may be resistant to the antibiotics, and then filled my bladder with saline, and (none of this was done last time either). His team explained every step and constantly asked me if I was OK. After the procedure they asked me to urinate and measured the volume, (again this wasn’t done the last time.) After the procedure he met with me to discuss what to expect going forward such as blood in my urine etc. and to watch for any sign of infection-go straight to emerg if that happen. So here it is mid afternoon Nov. 03, 2011 and I am pleasantly amazed; no blood at all, no discomfort at all, and despite him advising me to take a couple of days off I don’t think I needed to. I would most highly recommend him to anyone; I wish he was my family doctor.

This doctor is late and inconsiderate especially in a location where you have to renew your parking tickets. He works at 5 m/hr and in my opinion should go back to teaching.
