When patients go into the Crisis C- Psychiatric Emergency, the crisis worker can take upto 5 hours to appear. At night the waiting times are worse. 2. Crisis workers and attending psychiatrists have a dismissive approach. When family tells them that the patient has been off medication for weeks and he is delusional, they don't believe them & discharge the patient. 3. If the same delusional patient HAS to return to the CC, he & family again have to go through the same grilling process and a whole night of suffering at the Crisis Centre to be admitted- IF at all. 4. If the family leaves the patient to be attended by a crisis worker and a psychiatrist, and if the psychiatrist gives the patient a 'go back home' signal, they don't inform the family by phone and send the delusional patient out, who can run away- then the police - the search - and the consequences. The Crisis Centre exonerates itself with excuses. . No wonder patients 'detest' being taken to the Crisis the opinion of 'immediate' family must be given complete attention. They surely care more than any one else. please invite us immediate family, the police, as well as the ambulance paramedics,to give suggestions There is a lot more to share - in the common interest of all patients. Let us help you - and thereby help ourselves.
