this facility is very difficult to locate, and also very difficult for elderly people to manuever within the parkade. The frontline staff (receptionists) are not friendly and will often ignore you if you're standing at the desk. They are also not helpful when called by phone. In the past. one did not require a referral from a doctor if the last time the patient was seen was less than 1 yr ago... now it is 6 months. This presents a hardship for the patient and family member who must take time off of work to arrange more appointments, not to mention the strain on our healthcare system ($$$). In conclusion, this facility is limited in physical accessibility, poorly organized in terms of follow up and appointments, unfriendly at the reception, and not flexible with hours of operation (open to the public for only 5 hrs/day, 5 days /wk). Weekend appointments should be made available to the public, considering the reality of most families' schedules and the fact that we are an AGING population! The doctors that we have seen have been somewhat helpful, but choose pharmaceuticals as first line of treatment and often overlook more practical solutions. Their awareness or knowledge of community resources/services is limited.
