My colonoscopy was almost cancelled 30 minutes prior to the procedure because a nurse had not shown up for work with no valid reason! Afternoon appointments after mine were cancelled for the day and patients were very upset (understandably so after having had to prepare for the colonoscopy with the cleansing!) I found the procedure rooms lacked cleanliness, and the whole place seemed unprofessional. Part of me wanted to run out, and I should have, in hindsight! The nurses did not seem very professional and one who appeared not to have much training and had recently come from the Philippines (or somewhere in Asia -- I forget exactly where) kept missing the IV in my vein and had to call on another nurse to insert it after trying three times. I woke up during the procedure and felt a lot of pain and called out that they were hurting me. A week later, I developed an infection from the IV and had to go on antibiotics. I had never had an infection from an IV before. I would never recommend this clinic and am disappointed my doctor had recommended it. I am surprised they have not shut down yet. I should have reported my experience to Ottawa Public Health two years ago when the procedure was done. I regret not having done that. After reading the reviews, I should probably book another one. I don't trust the results and don't think I should wait another 8 years before my next one.
