I called the Oak Ridges Medical and, Urgent Care Centre to find out if they perform skin tuberculosis (TB) test, the person answering the phone told me that they do, that no appointment is required, and that we would have to wear masks as soon as we access the centre. My daughter, my husband and I went to the centre a few hours later, and wore masks as instructed. The lady at the front desk named Nancy asked us, in a very unpleasant manner, about who has sent us there, I told her that we have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for TB, and that we needed to undergo the skin test. She told us that we could take the test but we need to pay $40 per person because that test is not covered by OHIP. I told her that other friends have been tested without paying for it. I also told her that if it was true that people have to pay for this test, that information should be given over the phone when people call for inquiries about the TB test. Nancy with an unpleasant attitude and tone gave me the card of the office manager Tammy Varsamis and told me I can talk to her. Nancy has no people skills and should not be working at a place where she has to be in constant contact with public, for the sake of the public and the centre itself.

The doctors were very unfriendly in dealing with my son in his follow up appointments. And then I waited over 1 hour with a booked appointment.

I visit this clinic regularly to have treatments done. I came on a day I normally do not because of my work schedule, and met a lovely nurse. She was very professional and caring. I always ask her when she is working because I prefer her to be my nurse. Thank you Teresa! The world needs nurses like you!!!

I received excellent care from Dr. Tom Leventis for my 2 year old at the Walk in Clinic and Urgent Care Centre. He was gentle and considered in his examination of her and in his questions, so that she cooperated and only cried once in protest of the tongue depressor. She was quite sick so he even followed up with a phone call to my home to convey test conclusions and recommend my next steps. The nurse or initial interviewing physician was also good with children and thorough in her questions.
