Dr. Hayes initially had me feeling hopeful. I went to her for mental-health - related issues and she said some very understanding things; however, I couldn't seem to shake feeling awkward and con descended somehow in her presence. I eventually saw the notes she left on my file and was horrified: they were judgemental, demeaning, and dehumanizing. I am not sure how she fares for non - psychological issues, but I would never go back to her for anxiety/depression concerns. She even told me I ask too much of her (I sent a fax requesting a note for deferral of an assignment) and hinted that I not come back to UVIC Health Services (I felt really bad and cried quite a bit). A few hours later, the staff sent me an email reassuring me that I was welcome back any time. It was a very intimidating experience and I would adamantly not recommend her because of it.
