I had a great experience with Dr. Stewert. Secretary was very polite and professional. Wait time between appointments was a bit long but expected. Would definitely recommend him.

I researched him because he acted weird. It turns out he’s Mormon and had repeatedly tried to convert me when I was under his care – once when I had just awoken after surgery. Mormons don’t think it’s unethical or unprofessional because they’re directed by church leaders to target people when they’re vulnerable (“humbled’) and ready to “receive the gift,” like during illnesses (yes, this is on lds.org). In the parts of the world where computers are ubiquitous, current members and potential converts are leaving in droves after researching Mormonism’s dark past and oppressive present. It looks like he doesn’t target everyone, so the complaints about proselytizing shouldn’t be dismissed if there aren’t many of them. When I was there, the office staff ignored referrals from GP’s if not submitted in the manner they wanted. As a result, I had to keep harassing staff from both offices, and my diagnosis and surgery was delayed about six weeks. They also gave a referral to a ride service that didn’t actually do that. Doctor was over an hour late for the first appointment because of patient emergencies, but the timing was good with all subsequent appointments. He gets upset when patients aren’t retarded; when I knew the name of the procedure I was getting, he tried to tell me I was wrong by nitpicking. He incorrectly assumed the growths were benign and sent me somewhere else for a biopsy; my diagnosis and surgery were delayed by another five weeks. I had to have the surgery at an inopportune time. Patients can’t assess surgical skill. The doctor’s personality isn’t relevant to this, and rave reviews from other doctors and nurses for a conventional, tall, white male might be prejudiced. He may very well be an outstanding surgeon, but with what I know now, I’m worried that he made a serious mistake in December 2015 (see ratemds.com) because he was tired from all his religious obligations. As well, it’s an illogical religion with magical beliefs about medicine that don’t jive with modern treatments/evidence. He’ll have access to your medical/personal information even if you’re no longer directly under his care. If you’re uncomfortable with this, think about what’s ABSOLUTELY RELEVANT before answering any written or verbal questions because staff are horrendously bad at teasing this out. If I had known what to search for BEFORE, I would have chosen another doctor instead of staying with the one my GP chose.
