I went to this Clinic simply to receive a referral to an obstetrician, as I am currently expecting my first baby. I found out days later (only by calling the clinic, as nobody was ever intending to call me) that they didn't send it because "the ob/gyn is going to be away until August". FIRST of all, this is completely not true. SECONDLY, shouldn't I be contacted about this so that my referral can be sent elsewhere? Only BECAUSE I called her did I receive this information. So I told her that her info was inaccurate, and I would like her to please fax & call the office of the ob/gyn the following day when they were accepting referrals. She agreed to do this. So then I call the ob/gyn's clinic the next day to find out she has not sent it, and I have to wait until next week (I'm pregnant with my first and receiving no prenatal care at this point. Awesome). I begged the receptionist to let me in if I can get the girl to call today, and she agreed. I call Hampton Medical Clinic only to find out that this girl is not working today and apparently she is the ONLY PERSON who can do referrals (What???) She's working at another clinic. I get the number for that clinic, wait on hold for a while longer, only to find out she's not doing referrals today, she's the aesthetician, but there is someone at HMC who can help me (didn't they just tell me there was nobody else??). I called HMC back again to be put on hold long enough that I was far too late to be considered at my ob/gyn's clinic this week. Needless to say, after several phone calls and incompetent people answering the phones, I'm still left without a referral to the ob/gyn. One piece of advice...DON'T trust anyone here to do their work properly. Stay on them, call frequently to remind them, and advocate (far more than you should have to) to have your concerns addressed.
