When you entrust your life to your family doctor, you assume he/she will do his/her utmost to ensure that you stay healthy. What I witnessed is a person who lacks complete competence in his profession, to the point where you start to wonder if the BC Health System is so broken that it would actually allow such a person to practice in this province. My father has been one of the victim who had been repeatedly mis-diagnosed by this incompetent doctor. If it wasn't for an emergency doctor who strongly requested for a CT scan, my father would have been dead a long time ago. Accordingly to the Emergency doctor, the symptoms were so apparent, that even a doctor in training would have correctly diagnosed my father's illness. Instead, Dr Yeung had repeatedly denied our plea for further investigation even though my father lost 20% of his weight within 3 weeks period. His focus on his little computer terminal, rather than focusing on the patient's complaints/ visual observations, seems to suggest to me that he draws his conclusion about a patient's illness even before the patient enters his clinic. Had my father's illness been detected earlier, there may have been hope of a cure....now that hope is gone, thanks to Dr Gerald Yeung.
