Today my mother and I were at 2021 Cliff Road when she fell down a flight of stairs and hit her head. She was bleeding significantly. She knew that there was a doctor's office in the building, so we went to Dr. Michael Wong's office. She told the receptionist that she didn't have an appointment, but explained what happened and hoped that she could see the doctor just to make sure that she was okay. The receptionist told her "He's very busy, but I can ask." She then proceeded to sit at her desk for the next several minutes. She didn't get up to speak to the doctor. She didn't pick up the phone to call the doctor. She didn't ask for my mother's health card. She just sat at her desk while my mother waited, shaking and covered in blood. Finally, my mother suggested that we go to a walk-in clinic. At the clinic on 3885 Duke of York Blvd, Mississauga a doctor saw my mother right away. It's nice to know that there are people who actually care about the well-being of others. I guess Dr. Wong's receptionist really didn't care whether or not my mother could have had a concussion, or required staples. If you are injured and require immediate medical attention, please, for your own safety, do not waste your time trying to see this doctor. Even if your head is bleeding and you are in the same building as Dr. Wong, just go to your nearest walk-in clinic. Unless you happen to coincidentally have an appointment with Dr. Wong at the time that you're injured, they do not care. I've tried to find a way to speak to Dr. Wong, but his receptionist told me that he's not accepting new patients, and he has no other contact information. So I'm left with no other choice but to address it online. I just hope that something like this doesn't happen to anyone else.
