I was her patient for 7 years, had carries up until the 5th year, I developed severe neuropathy in my feet cause of diabetes...this was too hard for her to figure out as I relied on my family doctor for this...I used oxycontin again to deal with the foot pain, this allowed me to work again...doctor took away my carries and never treated me the same again...she didnt give me my daily dose after leaving a sample and being 4 minutes late for my 3pm apt...I went 4 days without a drink of meth, after 12 yrs of the program it wasnt fun.i could have killed me. also, dr brooks likes to call CAS on occational cocaine users but noone else...U can be mentally ill, doing shooting pills but if u do a line of coke she will gladly call and make the chioce to call CAS.I have a social workers degree and I ama drug addict also, she doesnt have any common sense about addiction issues.she doesnt understand it at all.dont go see her, all the other comments I must add are probably more accurate than they let on, she is a bad person and a bad doctor...the bad ones can slip through the system.

I Personaly think that "DR." and i use that word loosly Marnie Brooks is the devil incarnate! She thinks she knows it all, Will never listen to youe side of the story. Makes you wait 2-3 hours for being 5 minutes late, Like life can happen now and then! She took all my carries in one shot all because she asked me if i drank to which i replied socially! and this is after 4 years of being clean and without one dirty sample. Just having her look down her nose at me because i am genetically pre disposed to addiction and she thinks she is better than me is not fair! In All i think this wonam is evil and in it for the money and im basicly paying her bills every time i go!

Upset Accident Victim

Dr. Marni Brooks at First Step Oshawa, Toronto and South Oshawa Clinic wants patients for life to keep her fancy cars and mansion tip top lol. Today for the 3rd and final time she tried to force me again to stay at a higher dose than I needed as im weaning bi-weekly as quick as I can handle. She makes ZERO MONEY if we get off and leave the clinic. I requested a Dr. change, politely I might add, and was instantly blasted with " you are paranoid, too bad you have to sit on a hardwood bench for 2 hrs when you show up 5 minutes early for your appt" . YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET BECOMING HER PATIENT. ASK AROUND BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. SHE WAS PROLONGING MY TIME ON METHADONE RATHER THAN SHORTENING IT. She wants your money, not your recovery. THINK ABOUT IT, IF WE ALL STOP USING METHADONE, SHES OUT OF A JOB. LETS ALL TRY OUR DAMN HARDEST TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. SHE SHOULD NOT BE ENDORSING THE CONSISTENT INCREASE IN DOSING OF METHADONE, NOR SHOULD SHE BE GETTING AWAY WITH PUNISHING PATIENTS BY MAKING THEM WAIT 3 HRS IF 2 MINUTES LATE FOR AN APPT. ONCE IN A WHILE. FIRST STEP IS BAD AS DR. BROOKS IS BASICALLY GOING TO MOTIVATE SOMEONE TO SNAP EVENTUALLY AND THEN WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER COLUMBINE OR VIRGINIA TECH TYPE INCIDENT BECAUSE SHE MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT RATHER THAN EASY TO WEAN OFF THIS MEDICATION. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL AND AVOID DR. BROOKS AT ALL COSTS.

I have been going to the first step clinic for several years now and I assure you all this so-called "DOCTOR" is nothing more then a narcissistic, overbearing, child whom cares more about her pocketbook than the health of her clients! I have seen her make "SICK" people wait in the office for 3-4 without their daily dose of methadone! If you need help quitting opiates steer clear of Dr. Brooks @ First step Oshawa!
