Dr. Saary acted in the best interests of my employer and not in my best interests. After having had surgery I saw Dr. Saary at my employer's location. She stated that "You have to tell us every time you go to see you (private) whether or not they find anything" and "you have to tell us any time your medications or dosages change'. Both of these statements are unethical and based on my understanding, illegal. The disease I was/am treated for is one that can be very dangerous under stressful situations (emotional or work related). Dr. Saary knew this as it was her job to know all the details of the condition for my employer's benefit. By placing unethical demands on the patient did it ever occur to her that this would cause stress? I refused to provide the information she said I had to provide and she didn't say anything further; proof that her initial statements were false (a gentler term for 'lies'). Dr. Saary's job was to obtain as much information as possible, whether or not I had any legal obligation to provide it, so that my employer and their benefits provider could conduct a risk assessment to determine the % possibility that I would cost the company money in the future due to potential absences (short term disability, long term disability, death).
