I had a very unpleasant experience today. I had forgotten my appt time at home and was unsure whether it was 10 or 11am. I phoned to find out my appt time and got an answering machine as they didn't take phone calls until 10 am. I tried faxing them to call me and left a message but the message said they would get back to me by the next business day. Sp there was no other way of finding out my appt time other than driving there possibly an hour early.as it was I was taking time away from work. It took 15 min to get there and they wanted me there by 15min prior to appt time so I had to leave by 9:30 if they didn't get back to me. This would not have been a pleasant thing for someone very ill or eldery as there was no way to find out the time other than driving there. But the worst part of all, was when I got there, there were four women at the desk and one was quite rude to me. She told me she just phoned me 2 minutes ago that my appt was at 11. I was unable to wait the hour for my appt as I was missing work. Ultimately, she took no sympathy and told me it was my fault that I forgot my appt time. They do not start answering phone calls until 10 so I suggested they maybe think about changing this or giving some way to speak to a person since they opened at 9am and there were four of them at the desk. They all basically said too bad, we are not changing and it;s your fault. I left very upset and ended up cancelling my 11 oclock appt and will not be back there. I will be changing doctors. I will also let everyone hear of my experience and treatment. I feel sorry for people who need care at that centre.
