Dr. (which is a title he does not deserve) T is a lying despicable jerk. In addition to the comments posted on this website, please check out other comments about him at RateMDs where he has two profiles, one under "Arulanantham Thangaroopan" and the other under "Arul Thangaroopam [sic]". Incidentally I had a somewhat similar experience with the reviewer J Pont who reported below having "spent 30mins describing ... concentration-related issues" before Dr. T mentioned (after being asked) that he doesn't "deal with that sort of thing". In my own case I was referred to him after requesting to receive an assessment for ADD, however about 20 minutes into the meeting (right after he began screaming at me enraged in light of his idiocy) he asked what the purpose of my visit was, and when I told him the meeting then ended as he said he doesn't deal with ADD and instead told me (incorrectly) that I needed a referral to CAMH similar to what he told J Pont below. Yet despite the meeting having been cut short due to him being unable to assist with ADD, he later indicated in his notes that, "It is very difficult from this history and with this 45-minute assessment to definitely say that he has ADD." What a liar! Although I may have originally been scheduled for an assessment of such length, he didn't conduct a "45-minute assessment" as claimed given that the meeting ended prematurely once I revealed the purpose of my visit (incidentally, the amount of information within his one and a half page consultation report militates against his claim of a "45-minute assessment"), so I suppose he's billing OHIP for full services even when he doesn't perform them. No doubt he also conducted a "45-minute assessment" with J Pont. And why would he act in his report like it was difficult for him to comment under the circumstances about whether I had ADD when he's apparently not qualified in any case to diagnose ADD? But his dishonesty didn't end there. Due to space constraints can't continue,2046 spaces is the max allowable currently.

Appalled Patient

This doctor is THE WORST example of a medical professional. I am appalled at the way he conducts himself. You walk into his office, always at least 45 minutes after your scheduled appointment to a messy desk, and without as little as a hello or a smile to greet you. You sit down and he reads through your file. He speaks no more than a handful of words to you and then begins to write the script. If you do have any questions or concerns, he looks at you quizzically as if you are absolutely incompetent. I cannot believe he has lasted this long as a psychiatrist. Anyone who works in the field requires some level of compassion and a desire to help others, but he seems to completely lack empathy. Callous, arrogant, rude, lack of remorse for being consistently and unapologetically late, blatant disregard for other people's emotions... Have a look at these qualities and see if you can come up with some diagnosis for this POOR EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR!

Absolutely the worst. I spent 30mins describing my concentration-related issues. Then when I asked him if he could help me, his response was: "Not really. I don't deal with that sort of thing... mostly depression or schizophrenia. Do you think you have either of those?" I tried to get out as fast as possible after that but not before he had the chance to ask me "Are you sure you aren't just lazy?" and recommend I try calling CAMH (who don't diagnose ADHD). My visit with Dr Thangaroopan was worse than useless. He was insulting and misinformed.
