Let me start by saying that I understand how drug addicts make t so hard for doctors to trust anyone, I honestly get that but here's the thing. I suggest lie detectors be a new piece of medical equipment because I am sick and tired of being treated like an addicted looking for a hand out...! Today I had an appointment not with my doctor but with his fill in to get a new prescription for pain killers for my horrible back pain that disables me so badly I can hardly do dishes. Did I mention I am a single mother and everyone that has kids know how much work these monkeys are...today I walked in to what seemed to be a police interrogation rather then a doctors appointment...I was looked at and treated like a drug addicted or maybe a drug dealer looking for a hand out which I am honestly not..I was asked if I was selling my pills on the street, if my ex boyfriend was taking drugs, how many I take, how often I take them and I was even given a piss test! I have never been more insulted or belittled in my life. How dare you treat me this way...? I don't know why I am in so much pain and neither do you because for some reason my MRI referral was screwed up, what was it 3 times maybe if you guys could get your act together and do your jobs right we would have answers by now I mean for god sakes it's been over two months now!! And then your would be proven completely wrong...I am 30 years old and I can't do simple things like laundry,dishes, vacuuming or putting my daughter in the bath tub but god forbid you give the wrong person a pain prescription! The stigma sucks and the judgement is ridiculous, if my doctor believes I am in enough pain to warrant giving me the only pain pills that work for me what gives you the right to say any different? I am seriously thinking of going to the papers about this and also seeing a lawyer to see what my rights are as a chronic pain patient....!
