Dr Julie Richer is a gift to Ontario and all of Canada. I was diagnosed with a genetic collagen disorder by Dr. Richer a few years ago and her knowledge is immense. She is also a very caring, lovely doctor who gives you advice about how to cope with an incurable illness. She was sweet and funny the whole time and at the end of a 2 hour appointment, diagnosed me (gene has not been found for my form of this illness but has been found for other few types so her diagnosis was entirely by history and clinical presentation). Before I left, she made sure that I knew I could see her anytime I needed to and that she would welcome any member of my family as her patients as well. With 2 children, that was the most comforting part about my diagnosis. I know with Dr. Richer caring for me and possibly them, we will get the very best care from someone with an enormous amount of knowledge and compassion.
