I'm really surprised to find positive reviews of this guy because he was truly terrible in my experience. He was irritable and antagonistic from the very beginning. He didn't listen at all, and although I had hour-long sessions with him, he didn't even try to do therapy. We just talked about medications the entire time. He said things that were demonstrably false, like that I could get therapy at a certain clinic on campus and that there wouldn't be a session limit for me because I was a graduate student. (I went there and asked. I wasn't eligible for therapy there because I was already having hour-long sessions with Grynspan, and if I had been eligible, they would have only let me have 6 sessions.) He also said that fish oil's only side effect was improved heart health, which is also not true. He didn't appear to be trying, and he also appeared to hate me, although I really don't understand why. I ended up bringing a friend with me to one of my appointments, just because I felt the need to have a witness to what was going on. My friend told me afterwards "Don't ever see this guy again--he is actively harming you." And that was thankfully my last appointment with him.

I saw Dr. Grynspan for three years during my undergraduate career. He always listened attentively, offering input when applicable and letting me talk when I needed to. He is truly caring, intelligent, and insightful, and helped me immensely over the course of my treatment. He showed concern for even my smallest complaints, and offered several options for dealing with the issues I had. My only regret in finding such a wonderful, helpful doctor is that now that I don't live in London, my expectations for any other doctors are remarkably high.

I liked that he never sexualized me. His compassion made him beautiful. His passion for helping others nurtured my own growth to become a better person. I miss him very much, and I hope I never lose the spark he gave me.
