Dr Maria was the doctor in the emergency room at Pontiac regional hospital in Shawville when I went in on June 23. I had been in severe chest pain and had been given heart medication by the family doctor but it wasn't working. Dr. Maria gave me several tests including a chest x-ray and a CTscan which confirmed that it was not my heart but a slightly enlarged liver. She told me to go off the heart medication immediately. She was very kind and professional with me and saved my life. I am very grateful to Dr. Maria who looked after me professionally even though she was overwhelmed with many other emergencies that day.
