This doctor wrote to the SAAQ about my spouse's ability to drive without discussion with us. As such he violated the trust we had. We were made aware pf this by a phone call from a provincial government representative today, My wife was not given any prior notification or explanation prior to this phone call. The doctor has never asked any questions regarding her driving ability or experience. We are left with one possible explanation: She visited the doctor after a month-long absence (about 5 weeks) during which she had travelled many large distances. Upon her return she was given a pencil and paper test by a hospital employee whom she had never met, a foreign national whose first language was not English or French. The content of the test, similar to previous ones she had undergone before, had little relevance to driving ability or experience.
