I recently went in to the Toronto Western Hospital for some abdominal surgery. I had been suffering from pain for some time and had many consultations with various physicians over a period of time all of whom insisted there was no problem. Dr Jackson was different he followed up and finally decided that although the CT scan did not show anything remiss other than a small hernia he decided to repair the hernia and in that way have a look and see what might be causing my pain. I was booked for laparascopic surgery but on entry it was discovered that I had a major problem the mesh from a previous hernia repair done in 1992 had disintegrated and damaged my intestine, so I had major surgery to correct this. 8 inches of my intestine was removed and post operatively I suffered further unforseen complications. I remained in hospital for 3 weeks. Throughout the whole experience Dr Jackson was amazing, he took full responsibility and he and his team were inspiring, and made me feel totally confident. I was visited on a daily basis by Dr Jackson himself even though he has a very busy schedule, he was there for me even on the weekends. His care and concern go beyond professionalism in my opinion. I finally was able to leave the hospital and I am well on my way to a complete recovery. I cannot be more grateful to Dr Jackson and his team at the Toronto Western. I have always been skeptical of our healthcare service in Ontario, but my opinion has changed completely. I do not believe I could have had any better treatment anywhere in the world, and I have worldwide experience of healthcare markets as it worked in healthcare internationally. My sincere gratitude to Dr Jackson and all the team, including the nursing staff in the post operative recovery.
