This doctor was so rude! Another guy and I came in at the same time, both having fallen and hit our heads. Both same height falling off the same scaffold, and he rushed through with me, giving rude answers, not answering questions I had about my concussion. Other guy, ordered a CT scan, took all the time in the world with him, and polite. We both came in in our work clothes, off the same site. Very rude.

This doctor made a terrible error regarding my father's heart condition. My father was admitted into emergency care at Surrey Memorial after being sent there by his oncologist. The oncologist was very concerned about my father's heart based on symptoms and test results carried out before his next scheduled chemotherapy session. The oncologist was fully aware of my father's general health. The oncologist handwrote a letter and told my father to present the letter to the emergency room staff. This letter gave a detailed account of my father's condition and instructed that my father be sent to a cardiologist immediately. This doctor arrogantly disregarded the letter and told my father that it was "99 percent" that he did not have a heart condition. He sent my father home with a business card for a cardiologist that my father could call during business hours to set up an appointment. Less than 24 hours later, my father had a serious heart attack. As it turned out, the oncologist's suspicions were correct. The surgeon that treated my father says he likely would have died had he not made it in to emergency when he did. This doctor should be reprimanded and investigated for incompetence. He caused my father a great deal more pain and suffering than there should have been. He caused my family a great deal more stress and heartache than we should have experienced. He caused my mother a serious sense of guilt for listening to him. It would be understandable if my father was there for something minor like a flu or a bruised ankle. But this was a serious heart concern that was life or death. Not something that should be dismissed as easily as in this case. All avenues will be explored to ensure that this occurance does not go unnoticed. Future patients should not be put through the same thing.
