Told that I would be in pain and would have to try to walk every two hours if possible. I iced religiously, took the anti-flamitory meds but never had a spec of pain, leakage. Steri-stips began falling off on second day so followed instructions and covered them with sterile bandages. My question. Was this a "fake" surgery, to show medical students what to expect, as see on video. Was I actually operated on. I feel exactly as before. no problems walking or the like. Dr. Oliver walked in the room and said that only 20% heal and that of those that do, it is a come and go thing for life, I therefore elected for surgery. He did not check me out, just walked in and announced this (based, I believe on a letter from a report based on an MRI that a colleague had sent.) I felt no pain after...walking as much as I wanted. No pain killers required but I took anti inflammatory as told and iced religiously. I would like to see him as asap before I go nuts from avoiding walking and starting on these exercises. They are simple, except that I could do with a bit of core work and improving my right upper leg strength (due to not using it when leg was at it's worst). What's up? Seems like no surgery. I would like to have my follow-up downtown. The other office is extremely far from me and I do not drive.

Excellent all around. When arriving in the operating room, everyone was laughing and joking. Dr. Oliver is well liked, friendly, and easy to talk to. This is my second knee surgery, but the first with Dr. Oliver. Surgery was done in Kemptville, and that group is also awesome. Robin Hopkins

This week I had a ACL reconstruction by Dr. Oliver at the Kemptville Hospital and as a nurse myself I can't express how great Dr. Oliver was, my anesthetist, preop, surgical & recovery nurses were. From the moment you walked into the hospital there was even a lovely volunteer to help you with express check in and to direct you to the correct floor. The whole experience was top notch :)
