Right from the start Dr Shannon Wires was very unprofessional, rude and very dismissive. I did not go to see her for no reason she made me feel that I was a burden to her.

Another parent had warned me about this doctor, and I regret not listening to her. We were desperate to be seen by a ped and all other peds had a long wait list. There is a reason we got in so quickly, which should have been our second red flag. She does not see you as a person with your own goals, but sees you as another number to bill for. I thought she was knowledgeable as she seemed so confident. But I later realized it was her egotistical fake-it-til-you-make-it attitude. She referred us to a clinician of another discipline, and then later threw her under the bus when she did not agree with the other clinician's recommendations. Very unprofessional and very confusing as well. She pretends to work in an interdisciplinary team, but in reality, she calls all the shots without the consideration of the other team members or our family's. Her incompetence was later confirmed by the team at BCCH. They said they did not agree with her assessment and her treatment choice. But it was too late. My child had already been harmed by her non-evidence-based decisions. Maybe she's fine if your child has a straightforward issue, but avoid this woman at all cost if your child has complex issues. Considering she threw other clinicians under the bus, I'm sure she's a nightmare to even work with as a colleague.
