Unless you or your child has a form of cancer, he simply does not show any remorse or sympathy towards you. my daughter has osteochondroma which is an benign tumour. He came in the room, late of course, talked for 1 minute maximum asking if we want the surgery or not. We said yes then he walked out, and we waited while his secretary handed us the paperwork. Very unprofessional, moody and rude. Again, if your issue is cancer he'll be on his best behaviour. Other than that don't go to him.

The best Orthopedic surgeon in Southern Ontario. Reviewed our options and provided the best care for our son dealing with osteosarcoma.

Though he is a learned doctor and surgeon, compassionate, is non-existent. My son is currently his patient, and though he is the Orthopedic surgeon, the doctor that initially assisted at the sick kids emergency department was much more helpful. As a single parent it is difficult juggling work and home-life. Though my employer is more than accommodating, the constant rescheduling can prove to be difficult. It is also very trying to deal with a doctor that dismisses a parent's concerns, whether a child has an osteochondroma, or an osteosarcoma, Dr. Hopyan should still take into account that a parent is concerned for the well being and quality of life that their child will have. It is in my opinion, that the Hospital for Sick Children should guide this doctor in the area of relating with patients and their families. After all, the final goal for the doctor and family are to assist the child as best as possible. Dr. Hopyan, if you read this, please take to heart that your abilities are not in question, merely your practices in dealing with the families that love the patient you are trying to aid.
