I came to the Westlock Hospital emergecy ward suffering from sudden weakness. I had a stomach ulcer condition 8 months previous. Dr Mecendo consulted with Dr Sean Van der Merwe and 3 hours after coming to emergency Dr. Van der Merwe performed an edoscopy to verfiy if the ulcer had not reoccured and perforated. From the edoscopy he diagnosed a "lymphoma type cancer" without having seen any lab results. Subsequent lab results proved malignant "non Hodgson's B cell Lymphoma". Early diagnosis, resulted in early treatment and full recovery. I am now back to work and once again in a normal life pattern. Thank you! Carl Tatarin

Within an hour of entering the ER in Westlock, Dr. Sean came in for a surgical consult. He was very professional and pleasant. He did a fantastic job on my gall bladder surgery. He had a great attitude, liked to make jokes to put you at ease. I will be sad to see him leave the area, I think he's a great addition to the staff at the Westlock hospital.
