I see Dr Patel in the pain clinic for epidural injections. She is just wonderful to work with and very caring and thorough. She loves to decrease your pain in any way and takes a holistic approach. I am very thankful for her and her expertise.

Doctor Patel performed my epidural after 5 hours of horrible back labour at Joseph Brant Hospital. She mistakenly punctured my dura during a test but instead of attempting a new test area she gave me a full dosage of medication leaving me temporarily paralyzed in minutes. Let me be clear, she knew clearly that the test had gone too deep but proceeded anyways. Doctor Harrigan gave me a second catheter because he said he doesn't like to give medication in the dura since it's not standard practice. The second dosage worked and I had no issues. A post dura puncture headache developed the following day and I was not diagnosed for over 24 hours despite being in the hospital. Once diagnosed it took another 18 hours to receive a blood patch. None of the subsequent treatments were provided by Patel as she was off duty. I do not recommend Dr. Patel to anyone.
