Dr. Malholtra discharged me with a prescription that cost $4500.00. When we phoned her office and asked if there was any alternative to this $4500 drug, we were told no, there was no alternative. Being 72 years old I had to take out a bank loan to pay for the prescription,which will take me three years to pay off. At my follow up appointment Dr. Malholtra stated that she could have prescribed an equally effective antibiotic which would have not cost me a penny as it would have been covered. The nurse who witnessed this discussion was astonished at Dr. Malholtra's lack of concern about this error she made. An error which cost me $4500 and having a three year payment plan to pay it back. After again mentioning my dissatisfaction with this lack of concern about a patient's concerns, she said "you should complain to someone." Well I did, Dr. Malholtra. I complained to you and you thought nothing of it. Poor care and no concern for a patient's socioeconomic status.

refused to set second appt when test can back negative. I have since tested positive for anasplasmia
