My husband was hit by a truck while walking across the street. It resulted in a catastrophic injury to his brain. I was in shock. He not only saved my husband's life but look the time in a very nice manner to keep me up to date on his progress. I would accidentally see him in the hall of the hospital and he would stop and speak with me. I did not expect him to do that but was so surprised and grateful. Later in the follow appointments he was very respectful with my husband and patient. We have seen many Drs after that day. He stands out amongst to them all.

A phenomenal human being, not only did he save my life and give me a second chance but he also reminded me that there still is amazing people in this world who genuinely care for others. I couldn't thank him enough for what he did for me. First time I met him I was paralyzed and truly thought I'd never walk again, I almost died. Then 3 days later(after spinal cord surgery) I can move my legs again, and I woke up knowing I had a second chance thanks to one man who really is an angel in disguise. Thank you!

Dr Almenawer has been my neurosurgeon since April 2016. I have had a programmable shunt that was put in after I had Hydrocephalus in 2011. I met Dr Almenawer when I went to Emergency at Hamilton General. I was admitted to hospital at that time and he said he would be my doctor. The following day he reprogrammed my shunt which was over draining. Almost immediately my overdrainage symptoms went away. A year and a half later I got the same symptoms back. I went to see Dr Almenawer this past Wednesday. He reprogrammed my shunt again. Again 2 days later I am feeling back to 'normal'. I am to call him in 2 weeks to report on now I am feeling. Then I wil see himin 2 months for a check. I am so very happy that I found this doctor! He is wonderful. Dr Almenawer's sincere and caring manner has put me very much at ease regarding my condition. He is very professional. Thank you so very much!
