Concerned Patient

Dr. Sabira Ahmed is a disgrace to medicine. She severely misdiagnosed both my girlfriend and her younger sister. Every time she was told that the medication she prescribed was ineffective, her response was to up the dosage. This clear negligence and carelessness resulted in her patient taking high powered medication for conditions that weren't even present, as well as a having to endure a hellish two months of titrating off the drugs. Where as any respectable physician would perhaps consider that there may be other underlying issues or that their initial assessment may have been incorrect, Dr Ahmed's poor handling of this case has caused 2 years of undue hardship. This same negligence was again observed in a misdiagnosis or her sister, who was again prescribed medication that hurt her more than it helped. If you have a few sniffles or broke a bone, I'm sure Dr. Ahmed is very capable, but for any serious issues she has demonstrated a gross incompetence and lack of attention to detail that every patient should be afforded by their doctor. Avoid her at all costs, it is in your best interest.

I began seeing Dr Ahmed after another Dr. completely misdiagnosed my injuries from a fall at work, she unlike my previous Dr took me seriously and when I asked for xrays ultrasounds and mri's and booked me immediately for further tests which determined I had two completely torn hip labrums, a torn shoulder and various other minor problems that are being addressed in time. I find her to be honest and compassionate and willing to listen or try feasable options to my recovery, she has also refered me to pain management physio and other remedies, far more than my original family dr had done, according to him i was just bruised and he would heal in a few months, yeah right! he wouldnt even prescribe pain or inflamation meds, Ive been off work for 11 months since being diqnosed by Dr Ahmed, the other Dr ok'd me back to work after 3 weeks off to WSIB who screwed me royally. My advice to the other poster is find another Dr if she was so bad, I did and didnt wait more than 4 weeks to do it when I knew something was wrong. Thankfully I found Dr Ahmed.
