I badly injured two of my fingers in a volleyball accident. I was an international student at the time, though I had international health insurance which would cover the service. Dr. Deedo was very unwilling to help throughout my treatment because he believed he was not going to get paid. I had an X-Ray and after a glance he determined my fingers were not broken, therefore my immense pain wasn't important. He refused to even put on a cheap finger cast and I left the hospital with no useful information. Since I had to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later, I had to pay with a debit/credit card. For some reason my cards weren't working, though they had for months, and Dr. Deedo was smirking in an 'I told you so' manner, incredibly full of himself and awful to be around. I ended up going to an ATM to hand him cash for the doctor's fee, and have been reimbursed by my coverage since. 6 months later, I still have limited use in my hand, and my fingers have become swollen permanently. I understand that there isn't much to do about various finger injuries, but I was forced to leave the hospital in immense pain at 3am, without so much as a wink of information about what happened, how I could help it heal, or even a simple finger cast/wrap. After a sleepless night, I went to the drugstore in the morning for some tape. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

I went to the emergency room with a dramatically fluctuating and irregular heartbeat. Dr. Deedo was unwilling to hear my symptoms because the ECG had come back fairly regular, and because he felt that at my age, I was not at risk for any heart issues. He told me that if I had pain or shortness of breath, then maybe he would run more tests, even though I had explained to him that I DID have chest pain and WAS having trouble catching my breath. He was arrogant, very condescending and dismissed/ignored anything I tried to tell him. He seemed to be too busy boosting his ego by shooting down anything I said, to ACTUALLY HEAR what was being said. At one point he interrupted me to make a comment that if I had done 500 dollars worth of cocaine, then he'd be concerned. After I was dismissed and went home, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, my heart was racing again. I went to a different hospital's emergency room, and they did opt for more tests. The results came back that I had, in fact, suffered two heart attacks. But apparently, if you have chest pains, are short of breath, have shooting pain from from your shoulder to your forefinger, but HAVE NOT done any drugs, you are not worthy of Dr. Deedo's attention. Needless to say, I will be avoiding this "doctor" at all costs.
