She's always running behind and doesn't seem to have any time for me. She answered three phone calls during one appointment with me, the last of which she put the person on hold and told me to tell the receptionist she would see me again in a couple of months before resuming her phone conversation. She's asks me questions that don't pertain to me like, "Did you have a good holiday with your parents?" This proved to me that while she may try to be friendly, she doesn't listen to me at all because I no longer have parents and I've told her that more than once. She prescribed meds to me for ADD before testing me for the disorder and when I was later tested, I found out I don't have it. She also accused me of making up side affects of medications because she thinks I'm anti-med despite the fact that I've been taking the same anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds for years and I've tried several of the additional meds she's prescribed to me. I have no idea what she bases her decisions on if she's not taking the time or making an effort to listen to her patients and if she's making her decisions before getting the appropriate testing done. I don't trust her and would never recommend this doctor. I've never felt that her motivation was to help me. I've gone into several appointments feeling desperate for help and instead of getting it, I leave feeling unheard and disrespected.

She pushes medication on patients perhaps it is becuase she is heavilly involved at a medically biased institution like Queen's Univeristy and Providence Continuing Care which seem to be one and the same as the majority of employees come from local educational institutions. Thus they are trained to think a certain way regardless of how open minded a system they have tried to create. Queen's is ultra conservative as is St. Lawrence College. People may be able to express free will but are unable to act on it.

Dr. Jokic has been treating my husband for a few years. He suffers from severe depression and anxiety that is resistant to treatment. Dr. Jokic and her nurse Kathy Heer are extremely compassionate and supportive. Anyone who suffers from mental illness would be very fortunate to have her as their doctor. The wait is long to get a first appointment, but after that we have been able to met with her monthly. I highly recommend this psychiatrist!

Dr. Jokic takes the time to really know her patients, the time that is spend with Dr. Jokic is tentative, helpful and you always know she truly cares about her clients. You are not just a number. She puts you in touch with other team doctors for top notch care. With Dr. Jokic it isn't a question if you are going to get better, it is only a matter of time. Totally amazing Doctor.
