I am 50 years old and been to gynaecologists many times, but Dr. MacKenzie is the worst gynaecologist I ever met. She was supposed to take tissue for biopsy , unfortunately she allowed some student who is there learn to do it, it was extremely painful and I was bleeding for few days, I was very concerned and called her receptionist to be seen immediately, was told that this is nothing to worry about and if the pain and bleeding continues in the next few days to go to emergency in the hospital. All this time I am very concerned about the results and as there is no call from the doctors office I went in person for the results, but were not allowed to see them, after that I spoke with the receptionist of my family doctor and she managed to get the results, I was shocked to find out that the laboratory informed the gynaecologist that there was not enough tissue for test. Not only that I had to suffer pain, but it was in vain. Dr. MacKenzie didn't even care to inform me about the fact that we still do not know if I have health problem. Even when I was there in person to ask about the results, the attitude of her receptionist was such that I would not ever set foot in this doctors office. As a result of dr. MacKenzie incompetence I have to go again for biopsy somewhere else and wait more time, to wander and be concerned. So, if you want to be treated like I was treated go to be seen by her. I am just shearing my experience. BTW, I don't know how she gets positive comments. I wouldn't be surprised if they are written either by herself or by her receptionist.

I read the comment here while waiting for my hysterectomy surgery with Dr Mackenzie, and honestly, it had me worried. That's why I've come back to report my EXCELLENT experience with this kind, skilled doctor. Every appointment I had with this doctor was UN-rushed. She patiently listened to all my questions and answered them. She discussed all my options with me and never made me feel silly for asking any question. She's kind and it really shows. (If her punctuality rating suffers because she is so attentive to her patients, I think that's a fair trade.) She initially told me that a laparoscopic hysterectomy (total, with ovaries) would be a squeaker to fit out the less invasive way, but she was sure she could do it. We had agreed that, if it wouldn't fit, I would accept a small cut on top in order to avoid macellation. When it came time for surgery, it turned out that the bits to remove were bigger than the ultrasound had indicated. Instead of simply cutting me open, as I had agreed for her to do, she took 2 extra hours to consult with her colleagues while I was on the table, and they were able to remove the parts the less invasive way. That means no abdominal incision except for the usual ones for the scopes and tools. My recovery has been stellar and fast, and that's entirely because Dr Mackenzie took the extra time to make it as easy for me as possible. She's a gem.
