I was sent to see her by my insurance company and man what a joke and waist of time. I was in an out in about 7 min. She had a 10 page report on me saying that everything was ok and there was nothing wrong. I also found at least 5 false statements that she wrote down and so many mistakes. Apparently she didn't even look at my MRI properly because everything was fine. Expect the same, she's known to do that to %95 of patients. She's also been yelled at by the judge a few times. She definitely favours the insurance company.

The late Patient

We had to drive over 3 hours for an appointment with this doctor and we did allow extra time in case there was any delays. Unfortunately when we did arrive late due to traffic and construction, the doctor would not allow for the appointment. Yes we arrived 20 minutes late and it took us 5 minutes to deal with paying for parking and another 20 minutes to find the office in the cluster of buildings and asking for help from different people...in total we were 45 minutes late. The receptionist advised us that it was their policy and I felt that we made a very good effort to attend the appointment and we advised we are willing to stay here until the doctor can see us. We involved a third party and still it was a no. Since a third party was paying for the doctors time and OHIP would not be receiving a bill, this doctors made some pretty easy money since no report writing was required. Showing no flexibility or taking the time to even come out and meet with us at all to explain her policy in person was poor patient service. Here is a doctor that showed no empathy.

Dorothy Parker

My doctor informed me that an x-ray showed that I had no cartilage in my right hip. I requested a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, but instead my doctor submitted a referral to Dr. Soric. If this happens to you, PLEASE insist to your doctor (put it in writing if you have to) that he/she send you to an orthopedic surgeon (I would recommend one who is also teaching). I understand that my doctor meant well, and thought she was doing the best for me, but her belief in Dr. Soric has caused me nothing but misery and an unnecessary delay in surgery that I urgently need. Dr. Soric informed me that if I were a 70-year-old woman I would definitely have hip replacement surgery immediately. However, she told me that I was too young (I'm 55). Dr. Soric also had the gall to tell me that the hip replacement surgery was wonderful, as she herself had had the surgery. I didn't think she was much older than myself (early 60s). I was in a state of shock when I left her office. My doctor, still trusting Dr. Soric's opinion, delayed submitting a referral to an ortho. My doctor told me that I must have misunderstood Dr. Soric, and that the reason Dr. Soric did not recommend surgery is that my condition did not warrant it, and that it's not because of my age. I said, no, Dr. Soric was very very clear. She said the replacement only lasts 10-12 years, and therefore I had to wait. I finally have seen an orthopedic surgeon (his wait times are 6-7 months for surgery). I recently had another assessment at a different hospital, hoping to find a surgeon with shorter wait times. However, by the time you get a referral, get an assessment, see the surgeon, and then book surgery, it won't end up being any sooner. DO NOT go to Dr. Soric. She is misinformed. My ortho said that the replacements he is doing are lasting 20 years. He was quite clear that I wasn't too young (he just did replacements on a man aged 44). A patient's age is not a factor in the consideration of surgery. Furthermore, it is the PATIENT who makes the decision on whether or not to have the surgery, not effin Dr. Soric. This is probably the most horrifying aspect of my visit with her. Given the "extreme arthritis" confirmed by the xray, who is Dr. Soric to say that I cannot have surgery??? My ortho said that it is MY decision. Some patients with less arthritis have had the surgery, and there are other patients who have extreme arthritis such as mine (and greater) who have opted to wait. It depends upon one's quality of life, which is determined by the PATIENT. Again, although wait times have improved in Ontario, we still have wait times. Do not waste valuable time in going to see Dr. Soric. Go to a real orthopedic surgeon. And I also would highly recommend contacting the Arthritis Society. This wonderful organization has free workshops and provides free consultations with occupational therapists. They are a wonderful source of information. And Dr. Soric is not.

Dr. So rich shows a strong bias to the insurance company that hired her as an independent assessor. She denied a diagnosis that I have received from several doctors which do not share her bias. She is uninformed about my condition and the medically recommended treatment advice. On top of her bias and being uninformed, she bemoaned to me about an allergy she has to rubber gloves. Does she not know what she does for a living and how to adjust around the insubstantial allergy she felt compelled to complain to her patient about?
