Traumatized
Dr. Rubenstein was kind and seemed reassuring in her home office but I was one of the last patients of the day to be seen by her, she was visibly rushing the process (kept on saying how SHE MUST GET HOME TO HER FAMILY) and didn't even bother to go over some basic patient-physician principles. For example, she has THREE residents in the room with her when I was there to have a fairly private procedure done. Not a single one of them asked if it was OK to have FOUR people in the room with me at the same time. I had to ask two of the residents to leave. Not a single one of them in even introduced themselves. Completely unprofessional and I won't even start on the ethical implications there. I was nervous about local anesthetic, so when I jumped, screamed, swore in pain and stared bawling my eyes out on the bed, all she did was scold me to 'Stay still or she'll hurt me'. I had warned her resident that I was really nervous. Thankfully they both had tact (not). Following that procedure, Dr. Rubenstein didn't even make eye contact with me, and when I asked what I could do in the meantime considering I possibly had an STI and a current partner, she said 'Nothing, wait' and stormed out. I never got a call from the doctors, the hospital records didn't have my biopsy. I can't say that Dr. Rubenstein neglected to make sure my biopsy sample was processed, but considering she was rushing the whole thing, I am skeptical. I was diagnosed later and treated at another clinic. I understand that could have been a hospital error. I certainly hope she was just having a bad day and couldn't bother to uphold her professionalism, and isn't this awful to people all the time. But that was enough for me.

She has renewed my confidence in the medical proffesionals. After terrible treatment from other so called doctors I was so gratefull to find her. She is very knowledgeable, takes time to listen & does not rush you through the appointment. Most of all she treats you as a person not a #. I went to her walk in clinic at her house. Yes I waited 4 hours as there were many patients before me. But the attmosphere is friendly and what is 4 hours when it is generally 3 months or more before getting to see other doctors. I recommended her 100% & wish all doctors treated thier clients with the same respect.
