From the second I asked if a nurse would do a throat swab to check for strep he became immediately hostile and angry. Every time I have gone to the walk-in with symptoms of strep throat, a nurse has always swabbed my throat before I even meet the doctor. I was unaware procedures have changed and strep tests are not being performed due to covid. He was rushed, rude condescending, and even yelled at me for calmly expressing the extreme and hideous pain I have been in for over over a week with my throat swollen. I regularly get strep and to be told to poke at my painful throat with q-tips because it’s ‘just a tonsil stone’ is wrong. He threw the prescription at me and stormed out angrily, saying “yeah you know more than I do”. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable. I understand doctors can show up late but he arrived scattered and asked me the same question three times not even remembering that I already answered “no my tonsils have not been removed.” I felt like he wasn’t listening to anything I said about the pain I was experiencing. I came home in tears and my husband and children were shocked to hear a doctor would treat a patient this way. I’ve never written a negative review for any doctor before but this was beyond anything I have experienced before. If he thought it was nothing then maybe just suggest gargling warm salt water rather than being irate that for some reason he felt I was demanding drugs which I never did.
