Although I also had to withdrawl off of medications for the brain scan and testing, it was the best thing I ever did. Yes withdrawl is a pain, commenting indivdual#1, it is also necessary when a medication is not working for you. I do have bipolar, and with anyone who has had it, you have ups and downs, sometimes medications need tweaking, and sometimes you just need someone good to talk to. Dr. Flore Henry has been the best doctor I've ever had, he far outreachs any general MD for miles, and will walk the extra mile for his patients!! He really wants to help you instead of hinder you, and everything you say to him no matter how riduculous or irrational seems genuinely important to him. I would not change my psychiatrist for the world.

Pierre is a fabulous doctor , has helped me through some harrowing times. Very smart, and has a great grasp of how to deal with varied peoples.

I was in to see dr flor-Henry today. He is much easier to understand in person. He was super knowledgable about disorders and such but also medicines and life in general. He has had a lot of patients over the years so he is sure to know his stuff. We will see

This doctor affected my life beyond. I went to him as I felt anxiety even though I had been on paxil for 13 years (for anxiety.) He told me he suspected bipolar and said that he would give me an EEG to be able to see if I had bipolar. He said I would need to stop taking paxil cold turkey that day and he would be be able to do the EEG in 14 days as it was required for my system to be free of any medication for 2 weeks. The paxil withdrawal was horrible beyond words. I was physically sick for months. Brain tremors, electric zap feelings everywhere, tingling chest pain dizziness and could hardly stand up. muscle and joint pain. fogginess for months. He did the eeg and told me I had bipolar because he saw a lesion on my brain. His diagnosis was very wrong (6 years ago) and he should never tell anyone to stop any drug cold turkey. I havent been able to find any research suggsting that EEGS disgnose bipolar. The paxil withdrawal lasted abouted a year and ended up causing premature menopause. For anyone suffering getting off that horrific drug what helped me was omega 3 oil capsules. I do not have bipolar and I wondered if I would ever be well again as a result of the sickness that withdrawal from paxil caused. He suggested that the withdrawal wasnt really withdrawal. He told me that the sickness I felt was because I was no longer on paxil and needed to be on an antidepressant of some kind. Thankfully a year of brain tremors and zaps and dizziness finally past, where I finally felt normal again. That was 6 years ago and a memory I will never forget. I would never take another antidepressant in my life, or see this doctor. This is the truth of my experience and I want to add that he did seem genuine and kind.
