Mrs. Hindman
Dr Boursiquot was extremely rude, dismissive and flippant while providing care for a family member. Dr Boursiquot recommended a course of action that was the opposite of what the patient needed and while speaking to the concerned family members and the patient he refused to look at them and would fiddle with his watch and paperwork. He would routinely check his watch while the family was asking questions regarding the care of their family member and even advised the family "look, I have other people to see" while refusing to answer their questions. He showed no concern for the patient or their well-being and dismissed their concerns. At one point a female family member asked him to please give them his full attention and answer their questions as this was coming from a place of concern for the patient and at that point no one felt that Dr Boursiquot had taken any consideration to the family or patient and he had misquoted the situation many times and his response was that he didn't have time. While none of this is acceptable behaviour the most troubling incident occurred when one female family member said "well if you won't listen to us or answer our questions you might as well go" while gesturing to the door. Dr Boursiquot stood up and towered over the young female family member, shouting and pointing directly in her face saying "you MUST respect me! You have no right to dismiss me!" This was extremely aggressive behaviour and extremely threatening to the family member who had not raised their voice, used foul language or been aggressive in any way. He made several moves to leave the room but turned back many times to again gesture angrily and point his finger in her and her sister's face while shouting and leaning over them. He made no effort to comfort or address the patient or the family in a professional caring manner. The only time Dr Boursiquot made eye contact was while trying to intimidate and scare the female family members. The family will be pursuing this matter with St Joseph's HR department and requesting the video footage from the exam room. It should also be noted that Dr Boursiquot had determined to admit the patient against her will stating she needed constant monitoring by a medical professional but left her unattended for more than 8 hours with no food, water or monitoring of her medication even though Dr Boursiquot is aware she is diabetic and needs to monitor blood sugar. His and St Joseph's staff actions were contradicting to his statement of required monitoring. This entire experience has been unacceptable and unprofessional and frightening.
