Dr. N. (Ngozi) Imasogie Gastroscopy Anesthesiologist London Scoping Centre 310 Wellington Rd London, ON N6C 4P4 519.433.4700 During an endoscopic procedure on May 15, 2017, Dr. Ngozi Imasogie was shockingly disrespectful, rude, abrasive, and bullying in manner. While going over my forms, it felt like an overly assertive interrogation. She was IN MY FACE, regarding my dental crowns and made a strong statement, "My name is Dr. Imasogie and I in no way take responsibility for your crowns if they are damaged. I don't take responsibility for (it sounded like she began to say, "cosmetic") then ... for THAT kind of procedure." Furthermore, throughout my short time with her (less than 15 minutes), she rudely and accusingly asked me THREE times in total if I smoked marijuana! I was shocked! Once finished going over my basic information, and just before beginning the procedure, she strongly asked me one last time if I smoked marijuana. I was again shocked. She began the procedure of trying to insert a needle with catheter, something I have experienced myself through various medical procedures and that I have also used as a lab assistant at Western University for over 20 years in medical research. While poking away, trying to find my vein, I experienced EXTREME discomfort and PAIN while she was trying insert the needle and cannula into dorsal vein on my hand. She would not give up, even when I indicated this is always the case and that typically anesthesiologists, nurses or technicians use my cubital vein due to difficulty trying to access the dorsal veins on my hand. I was eventually in tears and ready to pass out (which I vocalized) but she was rude, impatient and unkind. I overheard, "well if you pass out, we won't have to anesthetize you." When she finally succeeded, she was stern and said, "See! I successfully got your vein." I did not respond, kept my eyes closed while tears continued to stream down my face, my head turned away. This is not my normal reaction to pain. I RARELY cry from pain. It was her hostile and arrogant manner that was humiliating and very upsetting! I have a strong background in the medical research profession, as well as having spent over 35 years on an animal farm so I do not consider myself oversensitive to pain.
