Dr. Drutz was our family doctor throughout the 1950's from his office on Keele Street north of Rogers Road. I well remember him coming to our home after the office closed many times but particularly when I was stricken with gastroenteritis at the age of ten or so. He prescribed, of course, but it was his calming influence - on the whole family - that I'll always remember. As we were the only Jewish family in the neighborhood, he and Mrs. Drutz - whom I never met - gave me a book on the then-new State of Israel for my Bar Mitzvah in 1959. I still have it.
