I had a very traumatic encounter with Dr. Michael Jason Winters at BC Childrens hospital this year. I didn't know that doctors like him exist. A doctor is supposed to be patient and kind and show a certain level of empathy toward another human being who is in pain. Dr. Winters was very was rough and sloppy when dealing with my young toddlers wounds. He showed no compassion or consideration for the two of us, who were visibly shaken by her injuries and rightly so. Most mothers would recoil at the sight. He made a spectacle out of our visit, embarrassed me in front of other patients and nurses with his loud and harrassing tone and demeanor all because we wanted to be cared for and he bother to give us five minutes of his time. When dealing with another doctor at a later date, they could not believe what I was telling them. I'm amazed that he is a pediatrician dealing with children. I wasn't going to say or doing anything after my experience with Dr. Michael Winters, but I just couldn't get that day out of my head. Talking about him makes my skin crawl. I will never go back to BC Childrens Hospital with my child, from now on I will drive the further distance to Burnaby General where I hope I won't encounter him ever again. Terrible doctor, worse- not a very good person.
