Dr. Fahy twice took me from the depths of despair and despiration with respect and understanding. Her knowledge of psychiatric medications and her ability to find the right combination are the reason I am alive today. Her words of encouragement have never left me ... and I was her patient 15 years ago. The BEST psychiatrist I've ever had.

Mellisa Fahy committed me to St. Paul's psychiatric lockdown for a week without interviewing me. She came into the cubicle and looked at my file and said "are you related to Dr Mamacos?" I said he was my husband. She excused herself and a have never seen her again. She called my estranged husband and took a history from him. ESTRANGED HUSBAND who wanted me committed. I have the files and she committed me on the lies he told. I was very willing to be voluntarily admitted. What happened to me in that week is unforgivable and inhumane. It was more than six years ago and I am still severely traumatised. This is the first time I am able to address the issue. I will now proceed to recount that traumatic event with the collage of physicians. I doubt they are aware of exactly what goes on there. Penny Mamacos .

Highly unethical psychiatrist. Repeatedly exagerrated statements and made up stories to keep patient certified. Pushed vaccine on vulnerable patients calling them crazy for not wanting covid vaccine. Called it "safe and effective" when it clearly wasn't. Did not give informed consent.

My experience with Dr. Fahy at the VGH Access & Assessment Centre (AAC) was highly unsatisfactory. Throughout the appointment, she frequently interrupted me, forcing a quicker pace of speech. Her approach was quite severe, and she demonstrated a lack of empathy, especially noticeable when I shared about my childhood trauma. For most of our session, I felt significantly anxious and triggered, and it was startling when, near the end, she questioned whether I frequently become triggered—as though she hadn't noticed my distressed state throughout our meeting.
