Hello. In 2018 , I was at the emergency room at the Queensway Carleton. I had been told the day before by another emergency room physician that it look like I may have cancer . There was a huge tumor on my ovary and five smaller ones on my stomach. He sent me to the General Hoapital and referred me to Dr. FUNKY FUNG. I was worried so I returned the following day and met Dr. MELANIE Josseau in the Emergency. I asked her to read my CT SCAN and give me more information. I asked her to tell me the hard facts. I was alone without family. She then told me that I had about four months to live and I should get my affairs in order. I was completely devastated. As it turns out, after having received a diagnosis by a gynecologist/oncologist that I had stage 3 serous ovarian cancer. After following the chemo and surgical protocols for this kind of diagnosis , I am still alive and in remission. Almost 7 years. I just want to say that it has taken me this length of time to fund this physician a d advise her of the trauma she caused me and my family. How could a NON gynocologist/oncologist, tell a patient who is alone they have 4 months to live. I want to let her know it really left me with such fear. So pleased. DR. JOSSEAU , I future , I suggest you not be so cavalier with other people's diagnoses.
