My experience with Dr. Lachance was highly disappointing. He often came across as dismissive and uninterested in genuinely addressing my concerns. During consultations, he frequently interrupted me, making it difficult to feel heard or respected. His consultations felt rushed, giving the impression that the focus was on efficiency and financial gain rather than on providing thoughtful care. At times, his advice was no more helpful than what one might find on a general medical website. When I lacked RAMQ coverage, I was charged several hundred dollars for a single consultation, as well as additional fees for completing a straightforward form. However, after obtaining RAMQ coverage, I noticed a clear shift in his attitude—he seemed far less willing to engage or provide the same level of service. A recent experience involving a vaccination further reinforced my concerns. Since his clinic no longer stocks vaccines, I was asked to purchase one from a pharmacy. On the day of my original appointment, the pharmacy didn’t have the vaccine in stock, likely due to a delay in processing the faxed prescription. I wasn’t informed of the delay and assumed the vaccine was ready. I had to reschedule the appointment and explained the situation over the phone, where no mention was made of any additional fees for rescheduling. However, when I arrived for the rebooked appointment, Dr. Lachance insisted on charging a late fee and even threatened to end my care if I didn’t comply. Despite my attempts to explain the situation, he remained inflexible and unaccommodating. This encounter left me with the impression that he places less value on patients covered by RAMQ, possibly due to the lower income these cases might generate for his practice. If you’re looking for a physician who listens, demonstrates respect, and prioritizes your health, I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere.
